Taxpayers registered with the FTA can easily modify their registration details online by logging in to the FTA portal. If any circumstances occur that could impact the tax records provided during registration, taxpayers must update their records within 20 business days of the occurrence. To make changes to registration details, click on the ‘Edit’ or ‘Amendment’ button located in the VAT box under the Dashboard tab. However, certain fields may be blocked from modification.
The following sections can be amended:
- Business name or trading name
- Contact details of the principal place of business
- Banking details of the applicant
- Composition of a partnership
- VAT application details
- Primary business activity or activities
- Customs registration details
- Declarations
It’s important for taxpayers to inform the FTA of any changes in the business details submitted during VAT registration and to amend the registration details accordingly. Failure to do so may result in penalties of AED 5,000 for the first occurrence and AED 15,000 for repetition.
